What Does a typical setup day look like?
Each company takes on the personality of its owners and although there are certain ‘similarities’ they do come in different shapes and sizes. The key element of a setup day is to try and understand what it is that you as an architect or surveyor or whatever wants from the exercise. Once we are clear on that point we try to tailor the marketing approach to best suit your business needs!
A Meeting to Listen!
We will carry out an initial, no obligation meeting to discuss your requirements and review your current marketing process and then talk through a solution for your business. Listening to you helps us to identify what is needed to generate profitable new business for your company.
CMM can if necessary provide a dedicated Business Development Manager who will work with you to achieve the goals of your marketing plan.
We will set up a system that best suits you and then based upon your requirements either provides training or a consultative role.
Our background in construction enables us to tailor the process to your needs. We can work with Glenigan, Barbour-ABI, Builder’s Conference or similar leads to ensure we know what is happening within your geographical marketplace.
The structure
We want to understand your business including your track record, experience and expertise. The type of work you do and the target market for new work opportunities. Then in consultation with you we will set up a database, tender register, projection list and a daily activity spreadsheet. This system gives you an overview of the marketing process and ensures accountability.
The telephone is an asset
We are ‘hunters’ and enjoy the process of ‘relational conversations’ to generate new business opportunities based upon your brief. Having done this we will develop relationships over the phone and negotiate with decision makers so that your company is placed on tender lists as well as set well-qualified appointments with new prospects. However, this is only part of the plan, as marketing is evolving all of the time.
We will help to build a current database of new prospects, write letters and make follow up calls in order to generate a steady stream of new opportunities for your business. Social Media will also play an important role in the marketing matrix.
Accountability and integrity are very important to us and all of this will free you up to get on with running other aspects of your business.
